Douglas Gillies is a facilitator, attorney, author, and documentary filmmaker. In 2013-2014, he shifted the focus ofSanta Barbara’s United Nations Association UN Day celebration from a meeting of individual members to a general assembly of local NGOs, fostering collaboration between competing non-profit organizations to address safety issues at Diablo Canyon and develop strategies to better serve local youth. The General Assembly model offers new opportunities for UNAs worldwide.
