Leah Bolger retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Commander after twenty years of active duty service.  She was elected as the first female President of Veterans For Peace in 2012, and in 2013 was selected to present the Ava Helen and Linus Pauling Memorial Peace Lecture at Oregon State University.   She is an active member of the Women's League for International Peace and Freedom (WILPF), Veterans For Peace, We Rotary, and World Beyond War, an international coalition to abolish war.
